OUTLANDER Review: Ronald D. Moore Brings Historical Novel Series To Life On Starz

Outlander Premieres on Par With Black Sails

Starz's new time-jumping drama Outlander got off to a strong start with its premiere over the weekend, nabbing more than 720,000 total viewers with its initial telecast on Saturday and amassing 3.7 million total viewers when multiple airings and multiplatform views are factored in. Compared to the January 2014 premiere of Black Sails, which was the network's highest rated new series premiere, Outlander fell slightly short understandable, given that people using television on Saturdays in August are down 23 percent compared to in January, when Black Sails premiered. The Black Sails premiere drew 850,000 viewers with its initial telecast.   Read More... //www.thewrap.com/outlander-premieres-on-par-with-black-sails/

In Starz's new series,  Outlander , Tobias Menzies -- known to Game of Thrones fans for his role as Edmure Tully, the groom at a certain Red Wedding -- gets to play two roles. In 1945, as the show begins, he is the good-hearted Frank Randall, husband to the lead character, Claire (Caitriona Balfe). But when Claire is transported 200 years into the past, she meets Frank's far nastier and outright dangerous ancestor, Captain Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall, also played by Menzies.  Read More... //www.ign.com/articles/2014/08/08/outlander-beware-black-jack-randall
