Discussions for Parks and Recreation

What's Hot Today

Hey everyone, as a huge Parks and Rec fan, i'd say that this week's episode "park safety" was by far the funniest episode by far. Really exploiting the office's hatred for Jerry was hilarious, and Andy Sandberg was nothing short of amazing in his role as the park ranger, what'd you think?

NBC Thursday Comedies - Who Did Christmas Best? - Featured

If you tuned into the full NBC comedy lineup last night of Community , Parks & Recreation , The Office and 30 Rock - you probably noticed that there was a whole lot of Christmas. So - which show do you think tackled the holidays the best? Was it Community 's " Comparative Religion " with a guest starring Anthony Michael hall? Was it Parks & Recreation 's " Christmas Scandal ''' - a hilarious sendup of governmental sex scandals? Was it The Office 's " Secret Santa " - with Phyllis and Michael's battle for who got to be Santa Claus (but also the re-hashing of the slightly less festive "business is in trouble" recession plot)? Or was it 30 Rock 's similarly-titled (and by similarly I mean identical) " Secret Santa " - guest starring Julianne Moore? Which did you watch? Who did the holidays best? Personally, I think P&R has been on a roll! Image courtesy of Videogum

That was the funniest episode so far, of a very funny show. It sort of reminds me of how I felt when The Office just began. Not much drama, and a little bit of every character revealed each episode. I'm not saying that this show is like Office though. It feels familiar because the 'mockumentary' style is similar to that of Office, but it has a completely different characters and a different texture.

Thursday's Premieres: Save 'Em or Sink 'Em? - Featured

Last night gave us the premieres of not one or two, but 3 new programs! On NBC we saw the premiere of Amy Poehler's new sitcom, Parks & Recreation . Originally thought to be a spinoff of The Office , the show later evolved into its own series (from the producers of The Office) that still resembled The Office in its mocumentary style. So...did it do it for you? Was it too similar to The Office , but not as funny? Premiering in ER 's old time slot was new cop drama Southland about inner city LA. I am not going to lie...I was mainly excited about this one to see Benjamin McKenzie ( The O.C. ) back on TV. So...this was the second new police series to premiere on TV this week ( The Unusuals bowing Wednesday on ABC); did you like it? Finally, island murder mystery series Harper's Island premiered on CBS. If nothing else, this show is an interesting concept in that it's a limited run series consisting of 13 episodes...where someone dies each week. So...which of these new series did you like? Hate? Didn't watch 'em? Discuss!
