Stranger Things Review: Where Do We Go From Here?!

It's a brave new world. Stranger Things Season 2 Episode 7 , Stranger Things Season 2 Episode 8 and Stranger Things Season 2 Episode 9 , the horror kicked up a few gears as the characters tried to battle with the forces emerging on Hawkins from the Upside Down. Eleven seeking out Kali resulted in an uneven plot that never felt like it got much time to form. While Kali and her friends wanted to take revenge on the men who wronged them in the past, they acted as though they were only carrying out crimes because of what happened to them.   ...Read More...   https://www.tvfanatic.com/2017/11/stranger-things-review-where-do-we-go-from-here/

Stranger Things Review: We Need to Talk About Will

Is Will Byers going to survive Stranger Things Season 2 ? That became my big concern after watching Stranger Things Season 2 Episode 4 , Stranger Things Season 2 Episode 5 and Stranger Things Season 2 Episode 6 . From the moment Will opened up about what was going on, it was apparent that bad things were coming for everyone involved, but the most significant twist came when Will lured the men from Hawkins Laboratory into a trap. That was just dark, and it proved the entity was well on its way to taking over Will's body for good. Now that everyone knows Will is not to be trusted, it's only a matter of time before he goes full dark mode Will.   ...Read More...   https://www.tvfanatic.com/2017/11/stranger-things-review-we-need-to-talk-about-will-byers/

Stranger Things Season 2 Review (Part 3): Things Come Together

In part 1 of Stranger Things season 2, we learned that nothing is normal in Hawkins. In part 2, things got tense, and everything was bubbling to the surface. Now join us for our review of the final three episodes of season 2 of the hit Netflix series. [WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD] The final episodes of season 2 are, unfortunately, some of the weakest, and the season ends up falling flat to a certain extent. Episode 7, "The Lost Sister," is without a doubt the worst episode of the season, focusing entirely on Eleven’s interaction with her "sister" Kali, the girl with the "8" tattoo introduced in episode 1. Everything about Kali’s character, her friends, and the entire plot of the episode is, in a word, pointless. There is literally no reason for Kali to be in the show. She is introduced as a side-story, and her interaction with Eleven contributes nothing to the overall plot. READ MORE...

Stranger Things Season 2 Review (Part 2): The Tension Builds

We’re dividing Season 2 of Stranger Things into three parts, check out our review of part 1 here and get ready for our review of episodes 4-6! [WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD]. The theme of the first episodes of season two was that things are not normal, despite everyone trying to pretend like they are. As we move further into the season, normalcy has gone out the window, and the weird stuff that’s been going on is escalating. There isn’t so much of a connecting theme of the second half of season 2 as much as there is a collective raising of tension. Mysteries from the first three episodes are starting to unfold, bad things are going down and the biggest threat of all continues to build up. And that’s the connecting thread of these episodes, rising tension. It starts with the various plot lines, they are still a bit too scattered, still barely connecting, but the tension is building with each of them. Will’s visions of the upside down have transitioned from simple flashes to full interaction, the shadow monster has become one with him. He just wants this to be over, for things to be normal, but as we already learned, things are not normal in Hawkins. READ MORE...

Stranger Things Season 2 Review (Part 1): Everything Is Not Normal

Netflix’s Stranger Things was an instant hit, and with the massive success came a second season, appropriately released on the weekend before Halloween. We’re dividing the newest season into thirds, so make some Eggos and settle in for our review of the first three chapters of Stranger Things season 2. [WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD] The theme of the show thus far seems to be the idea that nothing is normal, even though everyone is trying to act like it is. Season two is playing up the idea of the aftermath, and it actually makes this season a lot more interesting than the first. Of course, we wouldn’t be here without the first season, but there’s something so appealing about seeing the characters attempt to move on with their lives like everything is normal. This theme is introduced in the first episode, which opens with a bank robbery being committed by a group of criminals, including another girl with a numbered tattoo, number Eight, AKA Kali. Kali has the ability to induce mental hallucinations, using the power to help her and the robbers get away. She makes others see something that isn’t there, something that isn’t normal. This sets the tone for Season 2 READ MORE...

Stranger Things Review: Happy Halfway

Is Will Byers long for this world? That seemed to be the overarching question on Stranger Things Season 2 Episode 2 and Stranger Things Season 2 Episode 3 . The kid has been through the mill, so it would not be all that surprising if the show opted to kill him off for good. It would certainly change things up, but I can't be the only one enjoying his interactions with his friends this time around. He was gone from the group for much of Stranger Things Season 1, so it makes sense that he would struggle to reconnect with his friends.   ...Read More...   https://www.tvfanatic.com/2017/10/stranger-things-review-happy-halfway/
