'Toddlers & Tiaras' Mom Doesn't Understand 'Pretty Woman' Costume Controversy (VIDEO)

'Toddlers & Tiaras' (Wed., 10PM ET on TLC) has been straddling the line of uncomfortable television since its debut in 2009. But it wasn't until this week's episode that it drew the attention of the Parents Television Council. It wasn't the padded breasts and butt in a Dolly Parton outfit worn by a 4-year old in last week's installment that got them worked up. It was little Paisley in a costume inspired by the movie 'Pretty Woman.' More specifically, it was the costume Julia Roberts' character wore when working as a prostitute. Paisley's mother insisted that her daughter also wore a more demure dress from the movie, but that it had been edited out of the show. //www.aoltv.com/2011/09/08/toddlers-and-tiaras-pretty-woman-hooker-controversy-video/

'Toddlers & Tiaras': 'Pretty Woman' costume pushes the PTC too far

If you ever wondered what it would take for the Parents Television Council to go after TLC's "Toddlers & Tiaras," here's your answer: A three-year-old named Paisley dressed up as Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman" ... the streetwalker scenes."We have a serious problem when The Learning Channel features a toddler, who probably hasn't even learned to read, dressed as a prostitute showing off her sexy strut," the PTC tells TMZ. "There's no question, TV executives are complicit in robbing these small kids of their childhood."Or, some could argue, the parents are. However, Paisley's mom, Wendy Dickey, has a different take on things. She tells TMZ that the outfit is "less revealing than gymnastics wear and swimsuits" and that Paisley does transform into the "classy" Julia Roberts as well, but TLC chose to edit that part out."I take my kid to church every week," Dickey says. "At least I'm not forcing them into sports and getting my... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/09/toddlers-tiaras-pretty-woman-costume-pushes-the-ptc-too-far.html

Maddy's Dolly Parton Outfit Helps Her Win Big on 'Toddlers & Tiaras' (VIDEO)

The mothers and managers on 'Toddlers & Tiaras' (Wed., 10PM ET on TLC) often make what seem to us to be questionable choices, and this week was no exception. We saw Maddy's mom adding some adult "enhancements" to the four-year-old's "Outfit of Choice." That's because Maddy's toddler pageant pi è ce de resistance is to dress up as Dolly Parton. Complete with fake boobs and butt. As he preps her Partonesque wig for the the competition, stylist Michael confesses that he's not a fan of "the boobies." But Maddy thinks she looks cute in her outfit, boobs 'n all. When Michael asks if she thinks she'd be just as cute without the fake boobs he gets an emphatic "No!" //www.aoltv.com/2011/09/01/maddys-dolly-parton-outfit-helps-her-win-big-on-toddlers-and-tia/

'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia' cast previews 'Toddlers & Tiaras' episode, swears a lot

Moving away from the uproariously schmaltzy Hallmark-esque promos, the latest spots for Season 7 of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" showcase what the FX comedy does best: mock everyone and be incredibly crude, even by cable standards. The first proper clips from the next batch of episodes, premiering Sept. 15, reveal that there will be a marriage proposal for Frank (Danny DeVito), some more musical antics -- a possible "The Nightman Cometh" sequel? -- and, perhaps hitting closest to our hearts, a "Toddlers & Tiaras" spoof. The gang tackles child pageants this season, and in a brief sneak peek, the above trailer shows Charlie (Charlie Day) schooling the young ladies (and one boy) on the art of strutting. FX has also released another promo featuring a montage of the series' greatest and most absurd displays of foul language. It's remarkable. And you'll probably want to bookmark it right away:... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/08/its-always-sunny-in-philadelphia-cast-previews-toddlers-tiaras-episode-swears-a-lotits-always-sunny.html

'Toddlers and Tiaras' Mom Defends Maddy's Enhanced Dolly Parton Impression (VIDEO)

When four-year-old Maddy Jackson plays Dolly Parton in pageants and competitions, she has to use a few enhancements. Namely, fake boobs and a fake butt. That didn't seem to bother her or her mother, Lindsay, who both appeared on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) to talk about 'Toddlers and Tiaras' and the child pageant lifestyle. "When she wears the fake boobs and the fake butt, it's just like extra bonus," said Lindsay Jackson. Maddy's verdict? "I won a lot of prizes!" she yelled on a clip from 'Toddlers.' When 'Today' anchor Savannah Guthrie asked if she enjoyed the competition, little Maddy kissed her finger and pointed with a smile, which is apparently what a child pageant star does when she means "yes." //www.aoltv.com/2011/08/31/toddlers-and-tiaras-mom-maddys-dolly-parton-impression-video/

Kailia Goes Head To Head With Kayla on 'Toddlers and Tiaras' (VIDEO)

It was the battle of Kailie versus Kayla Wednesday on 'Toddlers & Tiaras' (Wednesdays, 10PM on TLC), two favorites who awkwardly gyrated suggestively to music to impress the judges, fans, and their adoring mothers. Only one could win the classy, understated title Ultimate Grand Supreme, while the other would have to settle for just regular old Grand Supreme. If you asked judge Kirtsen Hancock, Kayla was the favorite. "Kayla is a crowd pleaser," she said. "She could do anything onstage and I think that the crowd would react because she loves what she's doing." Kailia's mom would beg to differ, seeing the work her daughter put into her dance routine. "Kailia has put her whole effort out to do all the little fancy footwork and she was polished up there for a four year old," she said. And Kailia was very focused on the "big trophy" and "big crown."
