Review of Whiskey Cavalier

60 minutes

A high-octane, thriller that “follows the adventures of tough but tender FBI super-agent Will Chase (codename: “Whiskey Cavalier”), played by Foley. Following an emotional break-up, Chase is assigned to work with badass CIA operative Francesca “Frankie” Trowbridge (codename: “Fiery Tribune”), played by Cohan. Together, they lead an inter-agency team of flawed, funny and heroic spies who periodically save the world (and each other) while navigating the rocky roads of friendship, romance and office politics.”

This show is another victim of the trend for new shows being overly (or should I say overTly) politicized. The writers have felt the need to turn all of the male characters into teddy bears, I guess to ward off accusations of 'toxic masculinity' and all of the female characters into badasses, because girl power. I guess it's too difficult for Hollywood to understand that men are half of the population and that there is and always will be an appetite for classic/strong male characters, for masculinity itself. See the continued success of Football, Boxing, the rise of the UFC, heck Joe Rogan has the biggest podcast in the world. As long as Hollywood would rather pander to 'progressivism' than serve the appetites of a significant number of their audience, there will be flops like this one. Untracked.
