- Battlestar Galactica: In addition to the 2008 season, SciFi will air a two-hour event titled Razor in the fall, which will skip back to the story of the Pegasus. Additionally, the producers have promised that they won't leave fans hanging as to whether the fleet reaches Earth or not at the end of the series.

- Battlestar Galactica: Official word from the SciFi Channel is that season 4 will be the final season. The 22-episode season will start in early 2008.

- Jericho: although CBS had canceled the show after one season, due to a rabid fan reaction after hearing the news, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler posted a message to fans declaring that "In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story." Rumors that the show might be returning to CBS, moving to TNT, or being made into a movie abound.

- Viva Laughlin is a remake of the music-centric BBC show Viva Blackpool. It's about a man who dreams of running a casino.
- Moonlight is about a modern-day vampire who tries to help humans.
- Cane stars Jimmy Smits as the patriarch of a Cuban-American family running a sugar business in Florida.
- Kid Nation is a reality show about kids setting up their own society in an abandoned New Mexico town.
- Swingtown is set in the 1970s, with Chicago area couples navigating the era's sexual freedom. The show will start mid-season.
- The Big Bang Theory is a sitcom version of "Beauty and the Geek," with two brainiacs trying to deal with a sexy new neighbor.
- Power of 10 is a game show hosted by Drew Carey that will debut in midseason.

- Pushing Daisies - comedy-drama about a young man who discovers that he can raise the dead (and unraise them), starring Lee Pace and Anna Friel.
- Dirty Sexy Money - drama in which Peter Krause plays a lawyer for a corrupt family.
- Big Shots - about four corporate execs & their business & love challenges. Starring Dylan McDermott and Joshua Malina.
- Cashmere Mafia - Sex and the City-style show starring Lucy Liu.
- Women's Murder Club - crime procedural starring Angie Harmon.
- Eli Stone - stars Jonny Lee Miller as a lawyer who may be crazy or may be a prophet.
- Sam I Am - comedy starring Christina Applegate who loses her memory then tries to change from the bad person she discovers she was.
- Cavemen - starring the Geico cavemen
- Carpoolers - Jerry O'Connell and Faith Ford in a buddy comedy about guys who commute together.
- Misguided - Judy Greer returns to her high school as a guidance counselor.

- Lipstick Jungle - hour-long series about three high-powered female friends, starring Brooke Shields.
- Life - drama about a detective given a second chance after spending years in prison for a crime he didn't commit.
- The IT Crowd - about a group of people who work in technical services at a large corporation (based on a British series).
- The Singing Bee - a new game show featuring contestants trying to remember lyrics to popular songs.
- Scrubs will be returning for the new season.
- A six-episode Heroes: Origins series will air, in addition to a regular 24-episode season of Heroes. Each episode of the Origins series will introduce a potential new character who could be carried over into the regular cast.
