Iron Man is a 2008 superhero film based on the fictional Marvel Comics character Iron Man. When Tony Stark is forced to create a life support suit to keep himself alive after being injured in a terrorist attack, he decides to use the technology in his suit to fight the proliferation of the weapons that he himself designed. The film is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man. The film is the first film independently produced by Marvel Studios.
