Dunbar is best known for his leading role as Kenny Chadway on the critically-acclaimed television series Soul Food. Dunbar's other television credits include a regular role as Benjamin Miles "C-Note" Franklin on the U.S. television series Prison Break, where he played the role of a character who was set up for a crime in the army which he did not commit, after spending years in the army he then carried on telling his wife that he was still in the army, even though he was really inside the walls of Fox River prison, several guest appearances in Earth 2, Felicity, The Pretender, Two Guys and a Girl and North Shore.
