Well that sure was...something. There are times when Aqua Teen just plain doesn't make any sense, and the show attempts to string together enough random events to fill up fifteen minutes. This was one of those times. The idea of a pinball-themed episode had a lot of promise, but this story is mostly forgettable.
It started well enough. The ATHF show runners even added some pinball sounds to the intro. A nice touch. Then we move on to Master Shake and his custom pinball machineâthe result of some Family Guy licensing jealousy. One wonders who he got to build this marvelous machine, but it matters little since Shake immediately breaks the thing. Apparently the machine uses special egg balls as pinballs, objects laid by a rare exotic bird that only lives on Death Island. So off to Death Island we go, where the real adventure begins.
What follows is a bunch of random events that are only loosely connected by any form of logic. Shake does indeed find those special pinball-laying birds (that look like a penis attached to a furby with turkey legs), but they prove to be less welcoming than he expected. These odd, odd creatures inexplicably hang out with a giant, possibly gay, baby named Rudy. None of it makes any sense, and hardly any of it is actually funny. It's like somebody was either extremely high or extremely bored when they thought of this episode. There's no real plot to speak of, and the jokes mostly just fall flat. Not even a guest appearance by Gorge as a pinball repair man can help things out.
