Previewing the Top 10 Performances

Hello again, everyone. I'll write this preview in a slightly different way because we already discussed the genre spoilers and I feel a little floozy after working on something the past couple of days. Yep, Michael Jackson-related stuff again. But I can connect that with So You Think You Can Dance--of course, last week's announcement that the tribute won't be happening and all. Now that's out of the way, I'll admit I don't know what to think of the show this week. Last week wasn't much of a surprise, when Caitlin and Phillip got the boot. (And, since both are popular, they're joining the tour regardless.) And then I'm seeing the show change gears for the first time--when the judges take a back seat, the pair-ups lose prominence, and it's a solo run for the win.

At least I finally understand what the fuss about Janette and Brandon are, thanks to two pretty good performances last week. Well, sure, their jazz routine was good mostly on the strength of Wade Robson's choreography, but there I was, finally figuring out their supposed strength on the show. Then again, it's slightly too late for it, and I already have my own favorites.

We've discussed the new pair-ups, and we've discussed the genre spoilers, so the least we can talk about, in case you haven't seen what the trusty folks at SYTYCDism have revealed, is that there'll be two group dances this week: a Bollywood bit for the girls, and an African bit for the boys, which I'll believe goes to Wade.
