Unseen Transformers 2 Clip

We thought Michael Bay had blown up pretty much everything he could do in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, but it turns out he had a yen to sink a socking great aircraft carrier and though it didn't make it to the final cut, we've got first look at it here.

In this clip from the special edition DVD's behind-the-scenes footage, we see the Decepticons first bombing the ship before its aircraft slip off the side like so many Skittles. There's also the obligatory homages to Titanic, firstly with the robots clinging onto the sides while ships fall off, and then in darker shots with bodies floating around in the sea - a rare Bay nod to the death of innocents.

It's split screen, so we can see the rough draft running parallel to the final cut and it's interesting seeing how ideas changed: a group of people in cars watching robots flying through the sky was later moved to Trafalgar Square.
