Viggo Mortensen, the depicter of Aragorn in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, has hinted that his character will not likely be seen in "The Hobbit". Though he has been reported being approached to reprise his role in the Guillermo del Toro's upcoming movie project, the actor recently told Coming Soon, "I think they're just worried about shooting the first part of that movie which doesn't involve my character."
However, Mortensen did not rule out possibility that Aragorn may appear in "The Hobbit 2", the second installment of the adventure movie. "My character is around at times - in the middle, but it would only be if they made a second movie or connecting movie that connected 'The Hobbit' to 'The Lord of the Rings' that I might appear, which would be great," he explained, admitting that he is interested to play the character again.
"The Hobbit" is an adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's novel with the same title. The movie is planned to be divided into two parts. The first film, which eyes for a 2010 release date, will revolve around a Hobbit named Bilbo Baggins, who travels to the Lonely Mountain accompanied by a group of dwarfs to reclaim a treasure taken from them by the dragon Smaug. "The Hobbit 2", meanwhile, is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters in 2011.
