Lean Turnout for 'Jersey Shore' Casting Call

You don't expect a lukewarm reception to anything Jersey Shore -- after all, an appearance by the cast caused a riot n a New Jersey nightclub early this year -- so we don't know what's going on when less than 100 people showed up for an Atlantic City casting call for the phenomenal MTV show.

The Star-Ledger reports that recruiters for Jersey Shore spent hours upon hours waiting for applicants in a deserted ballroom, up to a point when members of the crew had to call people to audition.

"Oh my God, I'm calling people on the beach," an exasperated production recruiter Niki Dalessio reportedly called out. That it happened on a Sunday in the middle of a holiday weekend made it worse.
