First off, I'd just like to comment that JD's opening dream sequence - where he and Turk were playing Space Invaders by throwing water balloons off of the roof at the interns (who, to mimic the movements of the aliens in the game moved their arms up and down in a robotic manner) was absolutely brilliant. Honestly, it was my favorite part of the episode.
I thought that JD's story line tonight was kind of a throw-away...JD promises a high school student/burn victim that he'll get him to his graduation, only for the student's condition to worsen, forcing JD to take creative measures to keep his promise (which was then was a failure anyway, as we heard the screams of the boy in pain and falling as he walked across the stage, which I actually found rather unfunny - and not really matching the tone of the rest of the episode).
Tonight's episode was all about Turk and Carla. Turk learns Spanish as an anniversary gift to Carla, only to realize that it might be more valuable kept as a secret (which he discovers after he hears Carla tell a friend in Spanish that she would make him Brinner - breakfast for dinner - if only he would clean the apartment). Turk the keeps secret and learns a few additional valuable pieces of information from Carla until Dr. Cox outs him. Carla is understandably mad at first, but quickly forgives.
However, the juiciest part of the episode was Turk and Carla's little private Spanish exchange at the very end (they discussed how now that they both knew Spanish, they could have private conversations in public). Luckily for you, I know a little Spanish. The gist of the exchange: Turk points at JD and Elliot and says that he bets they'll be back together in two weeks. Carla responds that some people might not like that and Turk then shrugs.
Obviously it was no surprise that Turk thinks JD and Elliot will get back together. The real question is, what did Carla mean when she commented that people won't like it? Does she mean characters on the show (like Keith, who I am sad to see gone) or us viewers? It could easily be both. I think the show has set up JD and Elliot as a Ross/Rachel kind of couple for awhile now. However, I thought that when the two finally got together a few seasons ago, but then JD dumped Elliot almost immediately because he realized once he had her that he didn't actually want her that this would be the end of things (I mean, how can they undo that).
What do you think? Do you want JD and Elliot to end up together? Who do you think the show was claiming would be mad about it?
