Why do we have a feeling that we've heard it before?
In the wake of the generally liked Cuddy-centric episode on House, creator David Shore tells Entertainment Weekly what Huddy fans like to hear: Huddy will happen.
Not so quick to rejoice, however, as there's a little qualifier to the good news.
"Eventually, it's going to happen," he says. "This is the thing we've been dancing around -- even before we knew we were dancing around it. They're two very flawed people, but they're two people that are very attracted to each other."
Indeed, even the less Huddy-inclined fans would admit that the two showed great chemistry on "5 to 9" - the House episode that offered a rare glimpse of Cuddy's (Lisa Edelstein) life, and just how or in what way House (Hugh Laurie) fits into her frantic day.
Never mind that the episode was mostly mean to Lucas (Michael Weston).
Shore also revealed: "I'm a Huddy fan, too. Just keep watching the show. It'll happen eventually."
Needless to say, eventually is just too broad. It can be as soon as next episode, or as protracted as the series finale in four years or so.
