Out of all the DCU mainstays Batman: The Brave and the Bold has tackled over the course of its run, the show has taken the most liberties with Aquaman's character, re-imagining him as a boisterous, well-meaning goofball fond of celebrating his own adventures. This version of the character hasn't really worked all that well in comparison to the show's versions of other heroes, perhaps because it's never really strived to use the character for anything more than a vehicle for one-note comic relief. Apparently, all that was missing to make this Aquaman truly come to life was a starring showcase in an episode as unapologetically silly and unconventional â at least by superhero standards â as "Aquaman's Outrageous Adventure."
This laugh-riot of an episode follows Aquaman, his wife, Mera, and son, Aqualad, on a cross-country road-trip to better understand the surface world. Like any crime-fighting work-aholic, the King of Atlantis has a hard time keeping his mind off past exploits and thoughts of future team-ups with Batman while trying to relax with his family. It isn't long before he's ducking away from the wife and kid to check in on the Dark Knight. Apparently, landmarks such as the "Museum of Cheese" and the "World's Largest Postage Stamp" just aren't as exciting as battles with Black Manta.
