Bill Maher had some strong words (as he usually does) on the issue of the proposed mosque/Islamic center near Ground Zero and on Sarah Palin. If you know the least bit about the comedian and political commentator, you can already guess what he thinks.
On 'The Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC), Maher said he is against the mosque -- and all religious centers. Houses of worship "perpetuate mass delusion."
However, he understands that "there's a thing in this country called the First Amendment. And if somebody ever read it to Sarah Palin, she would understand that you're supposed to be allowed to worship whatever fairy tale you want to, wherever you want to ... Mel Gibson is allowed to build a church -- so should Islam."
He went on to discuss Palin, calling her an "evil dingbat." Throughout the monologue, the studio audience responded with a mixture of hearty agreement and weak, scattered clapping.
