Who Should Play God on 'Supernatural Season 5?

It's no secret that in season 5, the apocalypse is coming to Supernatural, Lucifer is walking on Earth, and as creator Eric Kripke confirmed at Comic-Con, God will be a character on the show.

But who (or what) should play God? We want your ideas as to who should play the almighty leader of Heaven on Supernatural this season, so please submit any and all ideas or hopes you have in the comments below.

The great thing is that Kripke and his Supernatural team have been tight-lipped about any God details. Is God a man or a woman? Young or old? White or black or Hispanic or Chinese? Will God be a new character like Mark Pellegrino playing Lucifer, or will God simply use an existing character as a vessel (Uncle Bobby, perhaps)? Maybe God could be a cat or an inanimate object (the Godpala, anyone?). We want to know what you want to see.

God has been portrayed almost every conceivable way in film and television, from George Burns and Morgan Freeman to Alanis Morissette and even a dog on Saving Grace (2007).

So who should play God? We'll post the best suggestions early next week before the season 5 premiere on Thursday, September 10 at 9pm on The CW.

A really, really hot woman that Dean finds himself very attracted to.

Does anyone else think it might be cool if God turned out not to be a 'good' character? After all, the angels are in essence going to let millions of innocent people die by bringing on the apocalypse, and we don't yet know what God's role in that was yet.

i think maybe Cass i mean the profit clearly said cass was blown into pieces right so maybe God uses him after all he was the only person Dean trusted at the end of last season. Or if not then it should be a diffrent person every episode as to throw Dean off once a woman another a man never staying in one body as it wouldbe an easy target.

God shouldn't possess a human body. Everyone could start speaking the same thing as if they are all hearing God. Or there could be a blinding light (ie: Saul on the road to Damascus in Acts 9). If there has to be a form in the light it should be gender neutral (we were created in the image of God - both male and female) and both terrifying and attractive, something you would want to both love and fear. Or it could be a mystical 'writing on the wall' like in the book of Daniel. Or take something from Moses' interactions with God in the book of Exodus; burning bush, rushing wind, the glowing face of a person who met face to face with God (Moses had to wear a veil because his face was too bright to look at). Or a bible that always opens to what Sam and Dean need to know. Or maybe Gabriel or Michael should show up (archangels) but not in human bodies.

Dean can't play God; then there'd be no interaction between Dean and God. And Sam couldn't be either, cause he's all messed up with demon blood and crap. I think it'd have to be someone new. And preferably a woman. ;) But maybe I'm just saying that because the whole MAN in charge of all, including/especially women thing pisses me off to the very core of my feminism. haha If he were to temporarily possess an existing character, though, I'd say Uncle Bobby. After all, the Winchesters already look up to him as a father figure, and go to him when they need help. Who better than someone like that when you go to earth to interact with Sam and Dean? And we know that that's going to happen, because, well, why else would He be on Supernatural? lol

Dean or a dog. Dog spelled backwards is God.

Dean? he could be a vessel for god to enter into a battle with lucifer with.Or a fusion of some kind.
