Casting Roundup: 6/24/2008

Here is a roundup of the notable TV show casting that has occurred today:

1. Michaela McManus, probably known to many as Lindsey on One Tree Hill has joined the cast of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as the new ADA. For fans of One Tree Hill, this probably means that Lindsey is not the person that Lucas called (or on the flip side he does call her, but we know her response)...

2. Amy Madigan, last seen counseling Meredith on Grey's Anatomy, will be guest starring on an episode of Saving Grace (2007) this summer. She will play the wife of a murdered cop.

3. Laurie Metcalf has been cast to play the head of a family of loan sharks in Easy Money, one of the shows being created by Media Rights Capital for The CW's Sunday night lineup.

4. Alfre Woodard, last seen (but poorly used) on Desperate Housewives has joined the cast of My Own Worst Enemy, the new spy series from NBC starring Christian Slater. Woodard will be playing Slater's boss.

I cant wait to see this new season..lindsey(even thoug im a leyton fan) is intresting and threating. And its sooo funny to see lindsey and peyton fight over lucas and lucas dosnt know who he wants...brooke and lucas has been over for a very long time..and even though that would be a crazy twist to the show it would never last

Oh and also, glad they went with another female ADA. Having a male ADA would of completely unbalanced the show.

Oooh, I have mixed feelings about all this. While I am thrilled to see that Lindsay wasn't the one Lucas called (Come on Brucas!), I am still annoyed that SVU needs a new ADA. Diane Neal was fine were she was. However, I can kind of picture Michaela McManus in an ADA type role, after all she does kind of give of this tough independent persona (as Lindsey anyway). Still... won't be the same without Casey Novak, as everyone seemed to keep saying, "She was badass!".
