'True Blood' - 'It Hurts Me Too' Recap Season 3, Episode 3

They're certainly going after the twisted sex and gore so far this season, aren't they? Not that the Maenad orgies last season weren't twisted, but they're not as twisted as the sex scenes in this episode. Well, at least one of the sex scenes. Oh heck, follow me after the jump and let's talk about 'True Blood.'

I can't wait 'til the end of this review to talk about that last scene with Bill and Lorena. Good grief. That takes "twisted sex" to a whole new level. The scene a couple weeks ago with Eric having sex -- I guess you'd call it that -- with the tied-up waitress was a chaste peck on the cheek compared to Bill twisting Lorena's head around so ... what? ... So he didn't have to look at her face while he was doing it?

And why WAS he doing it anyway? Does she have that much control over him that he's powerless against her desires? Was he so broken up about having to turn away from Sookie in order to protect her that he just lost all sense of anything? Feel free to add your own thoughts in the comments below.

Trust True Blood to pun up their most grotesque and quite literally twisted sex scene yet. But still, the giggle factor is very appropriate. Did we really expect Alan Ball to sit back and keep the show running without upping the anti? But I agree, WHY?? I think it might have something to do with being overcome with 'emotion' if a vamp can properly feel. Doesn't Bill realize Lorena will not stop. And wouldn't he be thinking that maybe he should get someone to look after Jessica and at least let Sookie know what is going on.I'm sorry but Jessica's situation...wouldn't Eric etc, even the Majester have stepped in if they knew that a baby vamp, made a vamp against her will was running loose around humans without anyone to look after her.
On another note. Eric. Yum. He's becoming a lot deeper, more humor and it's nice to see a weaker, humane side to him. Super villains are boring and short lived and if they keep Eric going along this path he is sure to dodge this. Cant wait for the next ep.Nice work TB.

Great episode!Am I the only one who thinks that maybe Bill had sex with Lorena because he was forced to?In the books, when a maker asks his vampire, ordains him to do something, he HAS to do it even if he doesn't want to, he is forced.Don't you think that maybe that's what happened to Bill: he was forced to have sex with her but didn't want to: maybe that's why he was trying to hurt her (twisting her head, lol) in the same time?

I think it's a little different in the show. I've read the books and I know what you mean except in season 2 in Bills flashback it shows Lorena 'releasing him' and then he later says something like 'she has no hold over me any longer'. I think in the show you can get released from the bond by your maker but not in the book.
Also, yeah I read a few other opinions and it seems that that's what Bill was aiming for. Either to make her finally stop hanging onto him or to hurt/kill her.
I hate Lorena but she creates such good drama!

I don't think Lorena ever really released him. She may have let him leave her presence-- and maybe Bill believed that meant she had no further control over him-- but I really doubt that Bill would've reacted so strongly [and sexually] without some kind of maker influence.
*shrug* Great episode, anyway. I just hope the plot doesn't get too campy. So far, so good!
