Zach Braff to quit Scrubs

Scrubs star Zach Braff is to quit the hit show after it's next season is completed.

Wanting to pursue a career in directing, the 33 year old actor has been the star of the show since 2001, playing the lovable Dr. J.D. However, Braff is aching to get behind the camera again.

The star said: I directed (2004 film) Garden State. I'd like to direct more films and you can't do both. It's hard to be the lead in a TV show and also try to direct movies.

Currently filming its 8th season, the show was due to be finished already according to Braff: We thought the show was over after 7 years and we all got this bonus year so we're all very excited about that. We don't know if AMB is going to continue airing the show or not, it will all depend on this season.

But although he is happy with the additional year, and season, B raff is definitely set to hang up his scrubs after the next one.

I think 8 years is a great run. I'm very thankful for it but there are so many other things I'd like to do in my career and I think it's time to move on.

yeah they should finish the show anyway, 8 years is a good run and it will never be as good as it was in the first 3 seasons.

As much as i like scrubs i much more anticipate his future in directing as garden state was such a good movie. Great job man and don't end the last season with a cliff hanger.
