America's Next Top Model: Former Employees Call Tyra Banks a "Diva"

Most fans of Tyra Banks know she can be over-the-top at times, but when she's your boss it's going to be difficult to wake up in the morning. That is, if you actually get some sleep. Since news of The Tyra Show's end has surfaced, employees of the mogul expressed their feelings regarding the incident, and about Tyra herself.

Former members of the show's staff have been approached by the New York Daily News, asking them what it was like to work for the America's Next Top Model host. While there were some negative comments that arose, they believe that's just what sells.

According to a past crew member of The Tyra Show, several co-workers have already threatened to quit after being around for just a few months. Their reason? It was "pretty difficult to work for Tyra."

As to why this seems to be the case, the insider revealed, "She and the higher-ups on the production staff could be extremely brutal. She really is a diva."

We've seen how Tyra usually acts in front of the camera, and are aware of how controlling she can be. Still, it must be tough to experience that when you're standing face-to-face with her.

"Everything had to be done Tyra's way," the source stated.

However, the way of Tyra Banks has its benefits most of the time. Another former employee of hers claimed that the 36-year-old America's Next Top Model judge knew what works.

The insider, who served in a high-level position with Tyra, said, "Honestly, I don't know how it would be to work under her. But for me, it was a good experience. Tyra just knows how she likes things done. And as for her 'diva-ness,' well, it sells."

Despite that though, the end of The Tyra Show is looming and it seems like Tyra Banks is set to offer something new to the table. But it's unlikely she'll have plenty rallying behind her then. Apparently, the press found out about the series' conclusion even before her employees did, making it seem that she went behind their backs.

The first source explained, "[A] lot of those people gave up their lives on the West Coast so they could continue working for the show. Now they're out of luck."

Maybe Tyra is too when it comes to her crew. But she's not the one out of money since she still has America's Next Top Model and True Beauty to go on. That's not to mention her movie projects.
