This was a more solid episode than the last couple, lacking as many of the, "Are you kidding me?" moments that have plagued 24 of late. On the other hand, it's still hard to believe that we're only three weeks away from the finale, as there is not nearly as much momentum as one would think this show especially would be delivering.
Maybe it's just because there's such a feeling of been there, done that with all the story elements. I get that we're supposed to be shocked and conflicted over Jack murdering Dana in cold blood but it's not like Jack hasn't done this exact same thing before. The difference is that previous recipients of Jack's judge, jury and executioner methods were far more interesting characters, including Nina and Christopher Henderson. We had more invested in them as cruel and clever villains, and could get a certain sense of satisfaction from their demise, because the story built up to it properly. Dana's just been annoying and badly written, so the only pleasure to take from her demise is getting her off the show, not any true feeling of resolution. Sorry you had to endure this character, Katee Sackhoff. Hope your next role is more worthwhile!
