Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 2, Episode 19 - "The Zillo Beast Strikes Back" Review

"The Zillo Beast Strikes Back" was quite a satisfying episode of The Clone Wars, featuring a nice moral dilemma for the characters to face, some very cool and noteworthy action and a conclusion that was appropriately dramatic and rather emotional.

Certainly, the first half of the episode involved a bit of a waiting game for those of us watching, since we all knew the Zillo Beast had to get free and run rampant through Coruscant – and all wanted to see that occur too, of course. But the material in this portion of the episode was well done, as Mace Windu and Obi-Wan discussed Palpatine's folly in bringing the creature to Coruscant and what they could do to convince him to change his plan. I liked not only seeing Obi-Wan decide Anakin was the only one who could possibly have a chance of influencing Palpatine but that also, off-camera, Obi-Wan made the wise decision to use Padme to help convince Anakin to go to Palpatine in the first place. It was nice to see that Obi-Wan – while obviously not knowing everything going on, such as a certain secret marriage -- still had a solid read on his former Padawan, and those important to him.
