Recap The View: Thursday, July 22, 2010

Actress and comedian Alexandra Wentworth joined the table today as a special guest co-host ...

Shirley Sherrod -- the USDA employee fired over false allegations of racism -- stopped by and spoke about the firestorm ... specifically, how she found out she was fired, as well as her reaction to the whole ordeal. She also addressed the speech she made which led to her being fired, and whether she'll ever go back to work with the Agricultural Department again.

Martha Stewart dropped by with three of her dogs to demonstrate how to paint the perfect dog house, make customized dog collars, and bake homemade biscuits!

Christina Hendricks was here to talk about her role on the hit television show Mad Men. Christina spoke about her nomination for her first Emmy Award -- which came as a complete surprise to her. Mad Men takes place in the early 1960s at a Madison Avenue ad agency; last season, her character suddenly got married and quit the firm. We didn't see much of her until she rejoined a new firm on the season finale. The L.A. premiere for the show just took place and Christina told us a little about what to expect in Season 4. The season premiere of Mad Men is Sunday night on AMC; check your local listings.
