Eleventh Hour: New Doctor, new TARDIS, new companion... Thoughts?

I agree, I REALLY miss David! He is by far my favorite Doctor to date, with Eccleston in 2nd place. Matt was okay. I sort of felt like I was watching a totally different show. I think they could have tied more of the previous series in to this episode that would have made it more Doctor Whoish. I think it would have been "Fantastic" if they would have made Matt have a craving for pears, since David obviously hated pears! Also, I think when Amy went into the TARDIS for the first time I think it would have been hilarious if she said "It's bigger on the inside". These little things would helped me feel a little less like I was watching a whole new show, and more like I am just seeing a new version of the same old Doctor. I like Amy as a companion, I think the attitude she gives the Doctor is going to keep him in line. She seems like one of the stronger companions. Donna was thick headed and seemed to give the Doctor grief, but at the end of the day, she pretty much just did whatever he said. I think Amy will be a little bit more defiant. I love the new DW logo. I think it's awesome! Although, I am not very fond of the theme music, but maybe it needs to grow on me more. I think this series is going to be good. I am looking forward to seeing what is yet to come. I did watch this episode twice, to give myself a better feel for the Doctor and the new layout.

Yeah, I had this kind of lost feeling, too. They even changed the sonic screwdriver! That's too much for my fragile fangirly spirit to take at once xDI didn't like the theme music, either, but that's just another thing I'll have to get used to.

LOVED- the new TARDISUGH- im ok with a new sonic screwdriver but i HATED that they made the light green :( it should of been blue, oh wellI HATE- the new intro and music but LOVES the new logo (:AND I HATE- the new catch frase.. and i dont think thats EVER going to grow on me.. T_T As for the story and characters themselves... Im liking the New Doctor more than i thought but im not in love with him yet, he needs to grow on me. Amy Pond, of what i've seen she's pretty cool but im still figuring out why they put in that she was getting maried THE NEXT DAY!I, also, felt like i was watching a whole different show.. they have totally put in more funny things and im not sure if that was the best.. i think they needed to tag in more things from the older seasons.. like i was waiting for The Doctor to ask for a Banana and go, "Ooh, Bananas are good!" (:As For Now... Can't Wait For Episode 2!

I wish he left Amy Pond where he found her. Now I have to suffer through a whole season of her blowing punch lines and throwing ridiculously flirty faces at the Dr. while tossing her red tresses around. I really hope they don't try to form a romance between the two.Did anyone else notice that the soundtrack is a lot more dramatic, reminded me of an action film. Kinda annoying.I hope the next regeneration brings about a very surely old man Dr. Eccleston is my favorite Dr, mainly because he was rude.Dr. Who's charm is that it didn't rely on sound effects or special effects but good sci-fi.The best theme song was from the first season Dr. Who. It has never been improved upon. They should just use that one rather than making remixes.

The doctor: not sure yet, but i dont like him as much as David Tennant (and never will), David was my favorite doctor and i miss him as the doctor... but as for Matt Smith i still cant be sure its only been one episode. The tardis: its alright its pretty cool but i liked the old tardis. The companion: i dont like her but then its only been one episode so maybe i will warm up to her later on... and the new sonic screwdriver i do not like... i love green but the sonic screwdriver is supposed to be blue!! as for the new song and intro i really dont like it!

The new tardis had too much going on inside... too distracting!The new theme music didn't even sound like doctor who, and the dramatic music was just too distracting.Liked the doctor more than I thought I would, still deciding about Amy.I was trying so hard to like this new season, but it feels like I am watching a totally different show. Twitter? really? How did the doctor even know what facebook and twitter are?

Don't get me wrong I like the new Matt Smith doctor. I think they made improvements over DT TARDIS. To answer your question what Matt is missing that the other two doctors had eyebrows !

Ok well to break this down i guess i will start with the new doctor New Doctor: I like him but not as much as Eccleston and no where near as much as I loved Tennant and I can guarantee Matt will not replace him. Amy Pond: Rose was really the only assistant I ever loved, but I will put Amy in second place as of this moment but really only time will tell) New Tardis: It may just be me but it really doesn't look that much different from the previous tardis. It just seems more fixed up and a bit more ya know red New Screwdriver: Hate it!!! The doctor always ends up breaking or losing his screwdriver, but he never full on replaced it before he would just fix it up or get another one!!! So i hate it! New intro: Love the intro hate the music! Well that is what i have to say. I am looking forward to this season and hopefully many more! Matt seems like he is going to be a great doctor just not the best... never the best... Anywaay i will wait to see the next episode on saturday!

Well as they were saying at the end of season 4, this season is essentially season 1 of a new series due to the tradition that they have changed over most of the old staff including those who made the last 4 seasons so spectacular. So to be fair Matt Smith is no David Tennant but with that said this new doctor seems to be going for his own flare which kind of separates them into their own fields. And isn't that the point of Doctor Who that when he regenerates he's not suppose to mirror his previous self(s) he's supposed to be an entirely new person, different body, different personality. So with that said I personally loved the new Doctor, no he's not like david tennant but has his own unique charm. So I'm frankly looking forward to seeing a lot more of this " Mad Man with a Box".

Matt was okay and he played great. Though, I don't quite like the new intro and how they changed the look of the time vortex into a stormy sorta vortex with spheres and items from events in the doctor's life. And, i don't think I'll get used to the the TARDIS' new look and the new green sonic screwdriver.

A new Dr is always challenging to get used to. When Peter Davidson replaced Tom Baker I was in tears. Yeah it's sad that David has left and we have this new Dr, but in time, he'll become just as endearing as all the others have. I think that Matt Smith is going to be just as good as all the others. He'll be in an elite group who've played the character. I like Amy...she's got attitude. As for the Sonic Screwdriver, this is not the first time that it's been changed. It's gone through a lot of revisions from the first one in the 1960's. It's not that big a deal that the light is now green. The Tardis, is the Tardis, it regenerates like the Dr. And yes there has always been a swimming pool...and a Library, and god only knows what else is in there. The new intro is good. It's more upbeat, and seems to reflect the new Dr. I dont see that there's anything to hate about it. It still has the same basic tempo and sound from the one that I remember when I was watching John Pertwee.

What!?! Has anyone not noticed how horrible an actress Amy is? Am I so utterly alone here? MAtt is actually a strong doctor. Completely unlike the previous in that he HATES taking advice, Whenever Amy does or says anything to help, he acts annoyed. The companions take a more back seat roll in this season. Amy is useless. Her forlorn fiance is a more interesting character.

I think Matt Smith does a pretty good job, to be fair. He plays the Doctor well, but Tennant is still my favorite. As for Karen Gillan and Arthur Davill, pretty good, but they are leaving the show next season. The new TARDIS is at the same rank as the old one for me. The swimming pool is a good a idea.

Going through the episodes, and having finished The Wedding of River Song, I have to admit that Matt brings back the flair, and bite mixed with the protective quirkiness that has not been there since the first five Doctors. Cheers!
