better than the office

Don't get me wrong, I like the office, but sidereel says better off ted is supposed to be competition for the office, and I must say that my first opinion is that I prefer it. I think this episode had better comic moments than most of the office (apart from jim's pranks on dwight... those are brilliant) , and if they play it right, the story has a potential to add to the comedy more than a frigin paper distributor (again, I DO like the office...)

very funny and reminiscent of arrested development. I really like this show so far and look forward to seeing it develop. Good character intrigue right from the get go and an interesting premise for a show.

You have got to be kidding me! The Office is heads and tails above Better Off Ted - so far, at least. The Office may be a bit more subtle, but it is also much smarter. Better Off Ted has a good premise and has only had two episodes to disappoint me; it could still end up being a favorite in the long run. But seriously, how could anyone compare this show to Arrested Development?! That was one of my all-time favorites, one of the most original, innovative and hilarious shows to pass through the airwaves in my adult lifetime (some might say that about Office as well), and Ted is already formulaic and predictable in both style and story line. I will always love Portia, though!I would put Better Off Ted more in the ranks of 30 Rock or Samantha Who: a mindless and pleasurable half hour of comfort food for your brain to feast on while your mind takes some time off.
