WHAT!!!?!?!

Not a bad finale, I knew Nathan would die so when he did I was just like meh... so the writers didn't quite deliver on the shocking death, at least for me... but maybe they did, since technically Sylar is dead, but the fact that he is Nathan will definitely play out in later episodes and I think that is awesome. A big problem I have with heroes is that they refuse to let people die I mean come on! Ali Larter just refuses to die... EVER!!! I knew she'd be back but not like this. Wonder who the new antagonist will be, shouldn't Nathan have all of Sylar's abilities? I'm sure that's how he'll start to notice he isn't himself as all of the powers begin to manifest but one thing I do love about the show is the way they get the bad guy, I mean way to go Peter, not sure how that one played out but man for a sec I was like WTF? the prez has an ability? oh and haha he was black I thought he was white at some point b4 or maybe its just me. I hope this next season can really start with a bang and finish strong I think there is real potential for the next season though it seems there are a million ways it can play out and that may be its downfall as well. Stupid Danko, he had his chance at redemption and blew it. Oh and WTF why give Hiro the serious handicap, I mean i know he was godly and all but now hes just worthless... Rejecting his own ability? sureeee....

Oh and WTF Sylar Flew?!? Telepathy?

Sylar has originally 2 powers: intuitive aptitude (understanding how things work like watches and the brain) and empathic mimcry (the same power as Peter, absorbing people's power through empathy).
Sylar absorbed flight through empathy from Nathan during the battle. After, he touched all Nathan's things, he absorbed the history and memories of Nathan. That ability is called claristenence, which he got from Bridget Bailey in season 3 episode 3 one of us, one of them. Having all these memories of Nathan, Sylar could understand how Nathan feels, and made it possible for him to feel empathy for him.
BTW, I thought the ending was amazing because it was such an unexpected twist that made you really confused, but also impressed. I finally figured it out after awhile.
Nathan died. Sylar turned into Nathan by Matt erasing all of Sylar (Gabriel Gray)'s memories with telepathy. Sylar already absorbed the memories and history of Nathan when he touched all of his things (his jewellry, certificates, clothes, etc.) So all Matt had to do is erase Sylar's memories, which would leave only Nathan's memories, making him beleive he is in fact Nathan. So creative and cool!
In other words, Sylar is dead. HOWEVER, the big twist was that he still had Sylar's intuitive aptiude when he understood that one of the clocks in his room was running a minute and a half too fast. This leaves the viewers to wonder and actually will in turn, help the viewers stay tuned to watch the next volume to find out what happens with Sylar, I mean Nathan.
Telepathy is able to hear thoughts, see images in the mind, project thoughts into people's head (mind control), make illusions, enter the mind and dreams, and erase memories.Remember how Arthur Petrelli erased Hiro's memories, only for Hiro's mom to heal the memories or how he erased Angela's memories until Linderman healed them.
Can't wait until volume 5. Hiro gets a new Charlie-like romance and a much better story than volume 4. Tracy is the new female villain (I think) able to now phase into water, rather than just freeze things. Cant wait!

gracieq915 well they didnt wanna Syler to wake up and start the chaos again .. so basicly they killed him coz if they didnt do it and peter became Nathan then Syler will be free like always and start killing every1 =) so yeah i think thats why its not logic for Peter being Nathan when they got chance to stop Syler =]

He might be busy on making more films and they are having to downsize his role a bit!

I agree with Popularscience2009, but i believe that all Parkman did was re-write the memories of Sylar and replaced them with what "he" knew about Nathan. I think that since Sylar had the mimicry power, those that he gained are not lost. But just "hidden". Because, and feel free to correct me if you feel any different, that when Sylar was alive, he knew how things worked, and in order to do so he required to look that those with powers "UP close". and i believe that if the powers were in the DNA of those that had them, Sylar's DNA should be a type that can adapt, hence his mimicry powers. Therefore the NEW Nathan Has the same powers and that the DNA are already capable to use the powers Sylar had and therefore i believe that it as just a matter of time before (Sylar)Nathan either understands his "new (however old)" powers or that Parkman's mind re-write missed a couple of things and Sylar lives again. Cuz, in response to Popularscience2009 again, didn't Sylar say (when was still Sylar) that he needed some memories that he didn't get from Nathan? So...i dunno, maybe there's gonna be a Nathan = Sylar part where Nathan becomes Sylar! ROFL
And all do respects to Angela, if she can see the future and that she sees that Nathan is alive, it might only have been the (Sylar) Nathan that she saw.

Oh didn't mean telepathy I meant telekinesis... And I don't think he really erased all of Sylar's memories, I think you'd need the Haitian for that who by the way is MIA. Angela's dream was definitely of Sylar being Nathan, for the final death to have been major Sylar had to die but Sylar dying completely wouldn't help the show so this was their way out. And I thought Jessica was Nikki & Tracy's other sister, and if it is Barbara then why is she after the agents?

Maybe Toddler touch and go will play a bigger role. His ability is quite amazing and maybe, when he accidently touches Nathan(Sylar), he starts "working" again as usual, as Sylar. That's my point of view.

It was a great twist! Angela's face when 'Nathan' hugged her during 'Sylar's' burning was priceless! xD I agree they should have gotten Peter to be 'Nathan' instead and lock Sylar away which could give them some time to find his killing spot wherever it is in the head. And anyway, when 'Nathan' starts to regain his Clairsentience power & starts remembering/questioning his past memories etc then trouble will start again!
I think that was Tracy, most likely she's back for revenge, it'll be refreshing to see a female villain in this. Also I missed the Haitian, where was he all this time??!
Now that Peter has acquired Sylar's power, does that mean Peter has all of Sylar's abilities or just one of them? And if Peter has acquired the intuitive aptitude power, will he be hungry again for power & kill?! The plot possibilities for the next volume are endless, can't wait!

I was already wondering if Zachary Quinto would stay Sylar in Heroes after he became young Spock in the new Star Trek Movie. Well, c'mon, he has better things to do than klinging to a downspiraling series in television now.although Zach Quinto as Sylar was definitely great, he gave me the creeps all along, what makes him a good actor, or just a good role? I don't know, but the finale was good and I'm expecting goodness also from volume four...

Just to clear up the Ali Larter thing:Nikki was Jessica's step sister, and so they were the two alernate personalities that we saw in volume 1.Then we had Tracy that we saw use ice who 'died' in cold snap. However Tracy may still be alive as she blinked after her death giving us a clue that things were not quite finished with her.Barbara is the third twin that was mentioned but we dont know much about her apart from the fact that she has a power. This means that the Ali Larter character in volume 5 could essentially be Tracy or Barbara. If Tracy's powers have evolved, like many other characters in the show, then it is reasonable to think that she is the new villain/the person in the trailer. Personally though I think it will be Barbara as I can't see Tracy's powers evolving quickly enough for her to have survived. Plus, I think everybody was getting a bit bored with Tracy and I think the only cool thing she did was her death which makes it far more likely for them to introduce Barbara with a whole new back story they can develop. But hey, thats only my opinion.
