I’m in London. I’m over on the other side of the pond because tomorrow is the London press junket for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and I got to see the film tonight. While we’ve been asked not to write full reviews, we have been cleared to write some initial thoughts. Since I’m a bit pressed on time, I’m keeping it very brief.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 is as close to the book as any fan could hope for. While there are some changes (it is a movie after all), many of the scenes played out exactly as I envisioned them while reading the final installment. But to me, the best part was having the time to not rush through scenes because of the limits of a two and a half hour movie. As you watchDeathly Hallows – Part 1, you’ll notice is moves at a different pace than the previous movies. And I liked it. A lot. I will say…when the credits started rolling, I wished Part 2 was being released tomorrow. At least we only have to wait till next summer.
