'Weeds' Season 6 Finale Recap

When a network promises that a season finale will be "one you did not see coming," it's a hard statement to back up. Especially for fans of 'Weeds' who have slogged through a season that felt more like Showtime's version of a sordid 'Partridge Family.'

What could the surprise possibly be? Someone unexpected dies, like Warren or Silas? Doug ends up working for Esteban and sells out Nancy's whereabouts? Or for the hopeless romantic, Esteban finds Nancy and Stevie to reconcile as she is his only true love???

Well, for once -- the promos were right. The finale was chock full of surprises, if not downright ludicrous.

The entire finale can be summed up by Warren's last line: "Theoretically speaking, if i were to do something, it would be because I loved someone very very much and I always will."

As gross as it was for Richard Dreyfuss' character to have held a torch for a then under-age Nancy, without him the Botwins wouldn't have had a chance to make it off the road and into the air. Thank you, creepy math teacher.

The sense of urgency and danger surrounding the Botwins wasn't as omnipresent as in seasons past. It took the return of Esteban, Guillermo and a cold dead Vaughn to remind us why the family has been on the run. As goofy as this season has been, the family remained entrenched in a deadly (if off-screen) cat and mouse game.
