Human Target: "Ilsa Pucci" Review

Human Target's opening season was a wild ride that left us on a thrilling cliffhanger. But despite the show's merits, ratings weren't spectacular, and for a while there was much speculation about whether the series would return. The fans spoke out and showed their support, and the series is back with the same formula, plus a few new ingredients that may provide a much needed ratings boost.

Things pick up right where we left off, with Winston in the clutches of some really bad guys who want a book Chance had some dealings with. If you didn't remember what that subplot was about, it wasn't a problem because it wasn't important to this episode anyway. The compelling cliffhanger from last season is resolved with astounding speed. The action gets going immediately, and all the elements that made Season 1 work are still there – Chance's resourceful and reckless antics, Guerrero's complete badassery, and the special bromance between Winston and Chance. It's exactly the kind of good stuff we've come to expect from the series, but I have to say it's a little disappointing that the bad guys didn't put up more of a fight, and I really would have liked more development of the whole "Winston is kidnapped" plot.
