Glee Co-Creator Named Characters After Real Classmates - Wetpaint


Ever wonder how TV creators come up with character names? In the case of Glee, they use the names of their own friends. Just look through the yearbook of Glee Beaver Country Day School, Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk's old school in Brookline, Massachusetts: It's like a mini McKinley High!

"Like many writers, I use all sorts of people from my past when naming the characters, but none of the characters we create are based on the people whose names I've used," Falchuk said in an e-mail to AOL. "Since the show has been on, I've heard from a few of those whose names I've used, and they've all thought it was very funny to have characters on television bearing their names."
