'Two and a Half Men' Season 8, Episode 11 Recap

jon_cryer_charlie_sheen_two_and_a_half_menWell, the first thing tonight's episode revealed is that Charlie (Charlie Sheen) is none the worse from his accident in the last show. Of course, since this is generally a series with stand-alone eps, it wasn't a certainty that there'd be carry-over.

But since Charlie is still going hot and heavy with Courtney (Jenny McCarthy), it might have been nice if he at least had a band-aid on his forehead after walking through a plate-glass window!

Alas, it was as if it never happened. You can forgive 'Two and a Half Men' for moving on, especially since this was a particularly funny Alan (Jon Cryer) episode.

The set up was sitcom classic: Alan wanted to buy a nice birthday gift for Lyndsey (Courtney Thorne-Smith), but he's broke. Before you can say Lucy Ricardo, Alan was plotting to raise some cash to buy her something special.

While it's great that Alan has actually succeeded in rebuilding a relationship with Lyndsey after burning down her house, the fact that Alan is such a schlemiel makes you question what this woman sees in him. He's got issues, not the least of which is that he's still living with Charlie and is in constant need of money. It might be different if Lyndsey was damaged goods in some ways ... but she's not!

Nevertheless, it makes for good comedy. Alan's frustration with his plight led to him doing something bad. Very bad. Well, very bad if you have any sense of morality.
