'TRON' TV series to premiere Summer 2012; Bruce Boxleitner, Elijah Wood, and more signed on

If "TRON: Legacy" left you wanting more of the digital-cyber universe, fear not. Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis, the film's screenwriters, confirm that they've also written a 10-part animated television miniseries that will fall in line with the continuity of the films. While a third film has yet to be greenlit, the cast and crew of the TV series, titled "TRON: Uprising" certainly speak to its quality.

Bruce Boxleitner, who played Tron in both films, is signed on. "Bruce Boxleitner is in it, Elijah Wood, Linda Moore, Paul Reubens, Lance Henriksen. I mean, we've got a really cool group of actors," Horowitz tells Box Office Magazine.

He confirms that the series will take place between the events of the original "TRON" and the current film, "TRON: Legacy."
