I think that for the ending of the serie was a pretty bad one, and with some filling episodes like the one of ember island it leaves so much disappointment, i think they hurried stuff up.

I think it sucked. This show was so amazing, and than this mediocre ending. And all the stuff they left unfinished or didn't explain or in some way did half hearted... :(

See, this is the problem with ending the series so soon. The show's creators made so many story arcs, and important character development moments are still unresolved (Zuko's mother, Azula going bat**** crazy) and others felt hurried and thrown into the finale because the series was ending (Aang and Katara kiss comes to mind first, also Ty Lee and Mai just jumping in at the end to tie up loose ends). I'm not sure where the creators stand as far as continuing the series, or possibly a spin-off series, or maybe a continuation that isn't QUITE a spin-off, but retains the characters and their lives AFTER the end of the war. Issues like the rebuilding of the Earth Kingdom, getting the Fire Nation's respectability back, and the little problems of a lack of airbenders.... I just feel like 3 seasons is not enough time to tell all the stories in Avatar, and the finale, while it had some AMAZING fight scenes (Azula vs Zuko was my favorite of all-time I think), was majorly lacking in actual story. There is definitely more of the story to tell, and a 4th book - Air would be a perfect way to end the series. Find more airbenders....somewhere, all the character stories are given their due attention, and it makes sense - 4 elements, 4 seasons, no stories left untold.

I think you are right! When Zuko asked his father where his mother was it went straight to the tea shop! and what did happen to Azula? Hopefully, they are either going to show these answers in the movies or they might just start another book (season)....most likely called air for the new era of peace and happiness and Anng restoring balance and since his IS a Airbender, originally before finding out that he was the avatar! But i think that this is one of the best nick shows that they made and that they should keep doing more seasons...at least 1 thoughto fill in the cracks of what they didn't do in the last movie.

it would make sense for them to make another season in my opinion. as long as it didn't butcher the overall greatness of the show. It seemed to me that they've set it up for another season anyway. Whether they'll do it, I have no idea. The Air Nomads stood for freedom, peace, and creativity so it seems fitting for them to end with the book Air. but who knows. How could they leave us hanging with Zuko asking his father where his mother was like that?

Well they could but it would not fit what they did. Maybe a related show could tie the loose ends and create even more cool stuff and characters. This way they can even add more seasons!

I LOVED the finale. It was marvelous. This show delivered yet again. However, I must admit. I fully expect there to be another season. I mean, it just doesn't make sense to have 4 elements, have the first three books be Water, Earth and Fire, and then just leave Air out. I would hope they continue this series for one more season, because there is such a huge fan base, because there's still many loose ends to tie up, because they HAVE a story to continue (i.e. rebuilding, Zuko's mother, etc.) and most importantly, I just can't stand the thought that Avatar is really over!

IF Nick ever gets the courage to announce that the show has ended and/or that they are not showing anything else of Avatar except the movie trilogy (First Movie to air July 2, 2010) start a petition; make their page overlap with messages of Avatar, fill 'em up and let them see that we want Aang! But before going crazy, give them a chance to announce or even settle down to see what they are up to do next. If its just the movies; I am going to get mad!

Hey, yah need to get out a little more, but at the same time, this show did end badly and it was rushed and now their gonna get M.Night to direct a movie!? What kind of shit is that?

No other season, just feature length animated movies to fill in the blanks and satiate the whiners. Its better to finish on a good high than stretch it out into mediocrity until you start praying for it to go away. It was a fine run and I'm happy with its final end. Although i could have done without that final tongue gymnastics between those two!! Could have just kissed and watched the sunset. lol Good, stuff. I'd like to see how the live action "epic" will turn out.

I really hope the avatar series is not over. I love this show so much. The movie was great but left us with a lot of questions. Where is Zukos mother? What happened to Zuko sister Azula? And What happened after the war?The creators of this show can make a 4th season out of those questions with the same characters. I understand why they made 4 elements and only 3 seasons.....because those 3 seasons were named after the elements that the avatar had to learn..because he already knew airbending All I'm trying to say is this show is the best show Iv ever seen and I love it!Please dont end the season now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the creators of this show noticed........they ended the it way too short. I mean look at that show no one watches....pokemon...those creators made so many seasons of that show its not even funny.......and one of the greatest shows created like avatar:the last airbender.........it was ended quickely i would hate to see this show reincarnated with new charactures...these charactures are what makes this show great! We need some more seasons!!!!Come on creators of Avatar!!!!Dont let all of your disappointed fans down!!!!!!!

Imho i wish they did 1 more season(air) to tie up everything, instead of 3 would of been nice to see all the elements i guesse. But i have a feeling that all these loose ends are going to be explained in the 3x 60 minutes animated movies so i assume they will tie up all the loose ends in those movies. If they dont so help me gawd i will storm there office and demand them to finish them

I just thought it was really lame that Aang took the Fire Lord's firebending away from him, saying "I'm not going to kill you." Weren't they in a war? Maybe I'm not too clear on how a war works, but I was under the impression that you kill your enemies in a war, especially a crazy despot that almost destroyed the world.

I felt that was a really creative way to end the war. I mean, Ozai can't be the Fire Lord anymore because he no longer commands the respect of being the best bender in the Fire Nation. Without his nation's support he's nothing. Going deeper than that, this show has all the philosophical underpinnings of Hinduism, Buddhism and several other Eastern spiritual theories. Non-violence, compromise, and dedication to a cause are all part of the major themes in Avatar. Removing Ozai's firebending abilities was Aang's equivalent of Gandhi's satyagraha (non-violence) tactics against British rule, and Martin Luther King, Jr.'s methods and beliefs during the American Civil Rights movement. I commend them for the way they got around Aang's moral dilemma of saving the world versus his resolute appreciation for all living things, including sadistic Fire Lords. Aang gave Ozai a chance to stop it before it truly started, OZai threw it back in his face, and Aang did what had to be done, in the most civil way possible. For all the complaining I do (and will do) on ending the series prematurely, this was quite possibly the defining moment of the show, and they nailed it.

@ artanis: I totally agree with you. I didn't like the ending, but this solution to AAngs problem was probably the best they could possibly do. And, by the way, I don't think war is necessarily about killing. It's about ending the fighting and gaining whatever you are fighting for, and if you manage to do so without killing, even better.

I thought the ending was good. They did such a good job on the fight scenes, it had a Trinity Blood feel to it that made me think I was watching an anime instead of an American cartoon.I didn't really like the fact that Katara and Aang kissed but... I don't think it was stupid that Aang took the Fire Lord's bending away because if he actually killed him that would've just made him out of character.
