'The Office' Season 7, Episode 12 Recap

The rousing start to 'Parks and Recreation's' third season tonight points out just how far things have come for fans of its older cousin 'The Office.' While 'Parks' looks fresh and lively, 'The Office' seems to be limping along. We're still finding out about the people in 'Parks,' but the folks in 'The Office' don't seem to be doing anything new. 'The Office' hasn't reached the creative heights that it did during its first four seasons, like 'Parks' is doing right now; basically, we're happy now when an episode doesn't outright stink.

Tonight we got one of those kind of episodes. There were some funny lines, and more Creed than we've seen in years. There was some movement on the Holly front, which is always good to see. But the rest of it just felt like filler, and there's too much to set up between now and when Steve Carell leaves in April for there to be so much filler. Read More...
