Kyle Bornheimer has suggested that his new show Perfect Couples is different from other comedies. The NBC series focuses on the lives of three different couples.Speaking to the New York Post, Bornheimer explained that he was attracted to the show because it "tickled [his] funny bone"."My thing with comedy is, if something makes me laugh, I try not to break it down too much," he said. "As I read it, I instantly started coming up with bits and ideas for the character to play that would take it even further. "It's a non-cynical, non-snarky take on relationships but was still edgy and funny and dirty and envelope pushing. It spoke to what I hope I do well and inspired me to come up with as much good stuff as possible."Bornheimer added: "I never want to do anything I've seen before, so if anything drives me, it's trying to do something atypical. But I never try to do anything just to be different. There's just that sweet spot you've got to find."Perfect Couples airs on Thursdays at 8.30/7.30c on NBC.
