'The Vampire Diaries' Season 2, Episode 12 Recap

"There's been enough doom, gloom and personal growth for one night," growled Damon toward the end of last night's brand new (THANK GOD) episode of 'The Vampire Diaries.'

While there was plenty of personal growth (along with the most poignant, non-cheesy single tear rolling down a grown man's face that I've ever seen), it wasn't all doom and gloom during 'The Descent.'

Sure, Damon's gradual acceptance of his feelings -- or, dare I say, love -- for Rose led to the titular descent as she came to grips with her re-established mortality (and he came to grips with the fact that he actually cared for someone other than himself). It was brutal to watch, and not in the gross, bloody kind of way either. But in the alternate Mystic Falls universe where these people actually still attend high school, Caroline found herself in a much more welcome, triangular-shaped love situation. Read More...
