This week's stellar episode, "Real Deal," marked the return ofguaranteed Emmy nominee Michael J. Fox as Louis Canning, a canny lawyer who exploits his own disability to win sympathy. His encore was subtler and more intriguing, as his motivation for competing (then unwillingly collaborating) with Lockhart Gardner on a class-action lawsuit wasn't clear. Was he still a corporate shill or had he suddenly grown a heart? The resolution was refreshingly nuanced for a network drama—and left the door open for Fox to come back.

But the former Alex P. Keaton was just the biggest name in a long list of gifted actors who graced the hour...
