‘Glee’ Season 2, Episode 14 ‘Blame It on the Alcohol’: TV Recap

If it weren’t for the booze, this "Blame It on the Alcohol" episode would have been Part 1 of the Rachel Berry party: a snoozefest. Umm, yeah, we gotta leave, we have dinner reservations.

But instead they cut loose, got "slizzard" and drove home a message of responsible drinking without hitting you over the head with it. And boy, was it needed.

Principal Figgins tried to impose a week of sobriety with "Alcohol Awareness Week" at school and put the Glee Club on the spot by assigning them a show for an assembly. The one message: stop drinking, kids. There have already been five suspensions of students getting hammered.

Of course, the Glee kids ignored it. With the parental units out to Rosie O’Donnell’s gay cruise, Rachel got pressured into hosting a house party because a.) she wanted to experience what it was like to drink and b.) she wanted to write a song that’s more meaningful than an ode to her headband.
