SHAMELESS “Nana Gallagher Had an Affair” Review

SHAMELESS “Nana Gallagher Had an Affair” Season 1 Episode 10 - SHAMELESS examines second chances in the “Nana Gallagher Had an Affair” episode as Monica’s arrival throws the Gallaghers into chaos and Karen spends some time with her father.

Mommy’s home and as we saw at the end of the last episode, no one is exactly killing the fatted calf to welcome Monica home given both her history and the turmoil whirling around her. She also brings Bob, whom I think is the first character misfire of the series. While she helps flesh out Monica’s personality, Bob is much too one- dimensional and grating, and some of her scenes are downright painful to watch.

I don't know who was funnier/crazier to me in this episode or who had the better lines - Karen or her father....made for some crazy times/awkward moments. Also just the concept of the Purity Ball in general was great/creepy - i wouldn't be surprised if we find out some more disgusting skeletons in Karen's dad's closet. oh and again props to the show for great music, so glad to hear a couple of Earlimart songs again - "Nevermind the Phone Calls" played when Fiona awakes to find Monica is back and making breakfast for the family, and also "Bloody" nose when Karen tells Lip she thinks she should start paying rent.
