Cross Game Episode #49 - Review

The game has been played hard throughout and as it gets closer to the end, the tension really ramps up a lot. There's something to be said for the somewhat understated approach Cross Game uses with its sports moments as it gives it a certain kind of tension that something louder and more in your face would negate. The simple music, the panning shots and the quiet that it employs at key times really drives home the way everything is building up to such a key level. And in the middle of all of this, we see Ko getting surprised by the speed tracking of his pitches which seems to be just going up and up, which is making him even more impressive looking than he has been before. His approach to it is rather amusing as well as he's kind of surprised by it, and that it's not higher it seems as well. Read More...
