'Futurama' gets two more years on Comedy Central


The future is looking pretty good for "Futurama."Comedy Central has ordered 26 more episodes, which will keep the show on the air through 2013, sources close to the show confirm to Zap2it. With the renewal, "Futurama's" post-FOX life (52 episodes plus four movies that aired before the revival of the weekly series) will be almost as long as its 72-episode run on FOX. The show is currently halfway through its initial batch of 26 episodes on the cable network; the back half of the order is scheduled to premiere in the summer. The new order -- which is either for Season 7 if you count each order as one season or Seasons 8 and 9 if you go by the way Comedy Central airs the episodes -- will follow the same pattern, with half airing next year and the rest in 2013.Frankly, we don't care how Comedy Central numbers them.
