'American Idol': Jacob Lusk's 'Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word' -- another solid performance


Jacob Lusk has built his "Idol" reputation on turning in dependably solid performances. He did the same thing Wednesday (March 30) evening, turning in a note perfect version of Elton John's "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word."Of course, we expect no less from Jacob, who -- let's face it -- could probably out Mary J. Mary J. Blige. Sadly, though, Jacob also fell victim to the curse of The Boring Elton John Theme.We were moved -- but not too far. Jacob's performance was, like most of the rest of the night's songs, forgettable. Maybe if Elton had been in the house, the energy level would have been a smidge higher?In any case, Steven Tyler didn't notice. He stole Randy's favorite word in his appraisal of Jacob's performance, saying "You slayed me." Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez spent most of her critique praising producer Tricky's arrangement.
