Born to Be Wild 3D - Review

Born to Be Wild | PHYSICAL ENRICHMENT Baby elephants play soccer in Born to Be Wild 3D

There are many less enjoyable ways to spend 40 minutes than gawking at orangutans and elephants that, having been orphaned by poachers, get trained to reenter their wild habitats. Yet this 3-D IMAX doc (Born to Be Wild 3D) is touching in a zoolike, rather than spectacular, way. It's fun to see the orangutans (with their faces that resemble coconut masks) as they slither up vines. And the baby elephants are solemnly adorable. But the story of Dr. Biruté Galdikis and Dame Daphne Sheldrick, who've each saved these animals for decades, is presented as too light a sketch to really resonate. B
