CRIMINAL MINDS: SUSPECT BEHAVIOR “Nighthawk” Review

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior "Nighthawk", Season 1 Episode 8 – "Night Hawks" far and away one of the coolest openings this week that we’ve seen on Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. I loved seeing the interview with the killer intercut with his spree killings, and it’s these types of artistic choices that have been so noticeably absent from this show. The cinematography was also interesting in the opening, as we get close-ups of the Unsub’s face and shaking hands as he retells his murders. The lack of these unique editing and camera tricks have left this show feeling much more bland and sterile than the original so it’s good to see that they’re taking steps to correct this.

The rest of the episode, unfortunately, didn’t quite live up to the opening. William Sanderson, legendary character actor, had a turn as this week’s Unsub named Leonard Keane. While he’s probably best known from his role on Blade Runner, most recent TV viewers will have seen him more recently as Oldham on the great LOST episode "He’s Our You". Unfortunately, he didn’t have much to work with in this role.
