recommendations for another show

Topics: Battlestar Galactica, Caprica, Lost, Doctor Who - 2005

Does anyone have any recommendations for another show I can follow?

Battlestar Galcatica is over.

Caprica isn't out yet.

Lost won't have a new episode for a while.

And I need something to keep me entertained while waiting for new Dr. Who episodes.

Based on what I have listed, are there any other good shows out there like these?

I don't want to get into The Sarah Jane Adventures or Torchwood mainly because they are spinoffs of Dr. Who and will leave me wanting. I want a completely different show. Thanks.

Hmmm....so sounds like you're into the scifi with a dramatic flair... I think the most obvious recs are FlashForward and the new V (Reimagined Series) - both on ABC - but I honestly am not convinced yet about either of them. V is too new and for 7 episodes in, I already have a ton of issues with FlashForward. So, for some others: I've really been enjoying Fringe. Started a little weak, but definitely found its footing about halfway into the first season. There's a chance you might like Dollhouse. Also, started with some weak eps, but there's also some really good, thought provoking ones mixed in. And while we're on Whedon shows...did you ever watch Firefly? If not, I'm pretty sure you'd go for that one.

I've been following the same kind of shows. Not sure if these are too "bright and sunny" for you but Eureka and Warehouse 13 works for me. And have to mention Farscape if you missed that :)

The new stargate universe has kind of a battlestar galactica feel to it if you havent checked it out

I'm with you, waiting for lost and Dr.Who to return. If you're a Doctor Who fan you should check out Torchwood - a great spin off from the BBC starring Jack. Also The Sarah Jane Chronicles (another spin off) is entertaining but geared mostly towards the younger crowd. Last suggestion from me: FIREFLY

Supernatural. Amazing. I never thought anything would be on par with Lost for me but I love that show.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Chuck, Dexter, Firefly, Legend of the Seeker, Leverage, True Blood are all amazing love them all. First suggestion however would be Supernatural.
