'Dancing with the Stars': Ralph Macchio's stiff patriotic samba


Some things just don't go together. Two of those things are a soft-rock version of the Allman Brothers' Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" and the Brazilian samba. Of course, that didn't stop the geniuses at "Dancing with the Stars" from mashing up the two for the first dance of the night -- from erstwhile frontrunners Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff.From the first few steps, it was clear that Macchio's jeans -- super-dark cowboy-style wash -- were stiffer than Bruno Tonioli's enthusiastic critique. Macchio came off as uncomfortable and a little bit lost -- and who can blame him? It's like trying to sing "La Isla Bonita" while "Freebird is blasting into your earphones."
