absolutely dumbstruck

absolutely dumbstruck by this episode. did this recession cut all writers and production budgets? no justice was given to doomsday-superman/ck brawl, that alone is infamy. then there's the ridicule of sending lois to another time, killing jimmy olsen (another superman universe must that is now out of the picture.... lex luthor is gone already) and bringing Zod back. Clark feeling guilty part was ok since that's where they wanted it to go.

As much as I am a fan of Smallville, I would've loved to see the show end. Make Clark learn to fly, turn into superman, have a mega battle with Doomsday and come out the victor and then have him fly around Metropolis now being Superman.

Why make another season of Smallville with Zod if they couldn't make a mega brawl with Doomsday?

In the Doomsday mythology, he was buried underground and Lex Luthor dug him up and set him on Superman. He kills Superman, but he comes back to life and gets rid of Doomsday. So in actuality, Lex Luthor is not dead, and the final Superman/Doomsday brawl hasn't happened yet. Also, in reference to Jimmy Olson. If you had payed attention to the episode at all, you would have realized that the Jimmy in Smallville is not the Jimmy Olson from the comic books that we all know and love. At his funeral near the end of the episode, we meet Jimmy's younger brother, equipped with bowtie and all. Chloe gives Jimmy's camera to his younger brother saying that he may follow in his brothers footsteps. This is the real Jimmy Olson from the comic books. He has no idea who Clark really is, and never will.
