'Hunger Games' Movie Adaptations To Be Split Into Four Films

The world has got a pretty big appetite for "The Hunger Games," and Lionsgate is ready to dish it up.

Considering the precedent set by the "Harry Potter" and "Twilight Saga" series, it should come as no surprise to fans that Lionsgate has decided to spread out the "Hunger Games" trilogy over four movies. Deadline broke the news this morning after Lionsgate executives talked up the upcoming film series to Wall Street analysts.

But it is unclear where exactly the breaking point will be. Both "Potter" and "Twilight" split their final books—"Deathly Hallows" and "Breaking Dawn," respectively—in two, but Deadline never clarified whether it would be "Mockingjay" that is split in half or the entire story stretched out over four films.
